Release notes.

• Art suite release v1_08_10 notes.
• There is no ds50daq release corresponding to art v1_08_10 as it has not been requested.
• There is no longer a mu2e-qualified art_suite or ROOT: the vanilla variant of ROOT now satisfies Mu2e's requirements.
• There is no daq_extras / artdaq distribution for Mac OS X due to the lack of requests for same.
• The source for packages obtained from the FNAL Redmine repository (cpp0x, cetlib>, fhicl-cpp, messagefacility, art, etc.) are no longer provided with the source tarballs, but are downloaded on-demand from the repository by build-FW-v1_08_10. For details on obtaining tagged sources for these packages independently, please read the documentation for git_archive.cgi.
• OSX Mavericks is NOT supported at this time.

• downloadArt-v1_08_10.sh
  • Will pull ups/upd, art_externals, and art_suite.
  • Use option mu2e:e4 to pull ups/upd, art_externals, art_suite, and mu2e_extras (with splines)
  • Use option nu:e4 to pull ups/upd, art_externals, art_suite, and nu_extras.
  • USAGE:
    • Download the script.

    • chmod +x downloadArt-v1_08_10.sh
      ./downloadArt-v1_08_10.sh <product-directory>
      <e4|mu2e:e4|nu:e4> <debug|opt|prof>

    • For instance:

      ./downloadArt-v1_08_10.sh <product-directory> nu:e4 prof

• checkPrerequisites-v1_08_10
  • Will examine the system for the presence of known OS-level prerequisites (on RedHat derivatives, these will be RPMs) and list any deficiencies with remediation instructions. The script does not require admin privilege to run, but it is likely that any remediation will.
  • USAGE:
    • Download the script.

    • chmod +x checkPrerequisites-v1_08_10
      ./checkPrerequisites

• downloadSource-v1_08_10.sh
  • Will pull and expand source code tarballs in to preparatory to a build.
  • USAGE:
    • Download the script.

    • chmod +x downloadSource-v1_08_10.sh
      ./downloadSource-v1_08_10.sh <product-directory> [mu2e|nu]

  • By default, you get ups-upd and art_externals (art_suite sources are pulled on-demand as they are built).
  • mu2e also pulls mu2e_extras (the splines package is pulled on-demand as it is built).
  • nu also pulls nu_extras.
• buildFW-v1_08_10
  • Build all packages from source (as downloaded using the script above). Will obtain other source (cpp0x, art, etc.) direct from the FNAL Redmine repository as required.
  • USAGE:
    • Download the script.

    • chmod +x buildFW-v1_08_10
      ./buildFW-v1_08_10 [-ft] <product-directory> <debug|prof|opt> <artdev|mu2e|nu>

    • -t: produce tar files.
    • -f: re-build already-built packages.
